First, I want to thank everyone that has helped in the construction of our 3 towers so far. I am truly inspired and grateful by the effort (big or small), passion, and generosity put in by volunteers on their own spare time and funds into this endeavour. The next step is excavation of the bases and this is planned for this week! Stay tuned for progress reports and further calls to action.
Yes, it’s that time of the year. Our membership fees are due on Sept 1.
Paul Bryan, VA7CDB, has done a fantastic job upgrading our website which includes a refreshed membership renewal page.
You can pay by PayPal or by cheque.
If you are at the club, you can deliver your cheque (or cash) directly to an executive. For those paying by cash or cheque, we will provide you with a receipt at the next club meeting.
And now with our towers going up, let’s spread the word and recruit new members!
2. Club Meeting
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept 25 at 7:30pm. I will send out a reminder with an agenda one week prior to the meeting. It’s going to be a full one with many exciting items to report. We are planning various different hands-on presentations as well throughout the new season.
I hope to see you all then.
We are planning to move our nets from Thursdays at 7:00pm to Mondays at 7:30pm and from the VE7MFS to VE7RPT repeater starting on Monday, Sept 22. This is to expand our coverage with better access to all areas.
I received some initial feedback and reminder that the Abbottsford ARES net is on Mondays at 7:00pm so, I shifted my initial proposal to 7:30pm.
I received permission from BCFMCA for the use of their repeater.
If anyone has any issues regarding this move (regarding conflicts, access, etc.), please do not hesitate to contact me.
